OUR INSTRUCTORS
Stephen
Stephen originally started training in Shotokan karate as a teenager back in the 1980’s, and is a 4th Dan black belt in Shotokan.

He feels the benefits of his own karate training in a wide range of areas of his life – including both his physical and mental wellbeing – and is looking forward to helping others to develop their karate skills and achieve the same benefits.

He is a passionate advocate of providing a supportive and encouraging environment for teaching karate and ensuring that the students at Hattatsu Karate have the opportunities to achieve their full potential with their karate.

Dave
Dave has been training in karate since he left school. At first, he trained in the karate style of Wado-ryu in which he graded to 2nd Dan black belt. After which he decided to change style and now trains in Shotokan.
His most important aspects to his karate training and teaching are to practise kata, kumite and kihon equally and not to concentrate on just one. With all three, they will give you all the technique, speed and power you need to progress in your karate.
Being a personal trainer, he loves inspiring and motivating clients, sharing his passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle and helping his clients believe in their ability to achieve their goals.
Dave has also completed ultra marathons including the Lakeland 100.
